In 2005 I had the pleasure of seeing some of these sights that we will be visiting on this very special custom tour. It was pretty awesome arriving into Beijing and what surprised me even more was to see how modern it was and how green with many parks and trees. In the spring of 2008 we will conduct a special tour of China. Besides seeing some of the country’s greatest sights such as the Terra Cotta Warriors and Great Wall, we’ll pay a special visit to the International Peony Festival, the largest event of its type in the world. Luoyang, where the festival occurs, was China’s capital in ancient times.

Our special tour will end in Shanghai. Shanghai, located along the coast of the East China Sea and the southern banks of the mouth of the Yangtze River, is a city under the direct jurisdiction of the Central Government. It is the largest metropolis in China and one of the most historically significant cities. Shanghai is an ideal "shopping paradise." Nanjing Road is known as "China's No.1 Street", Shanghai - a beautiful city mixing traditional Chinese and 21st century architecture. Shanghai began as a tiny fishing village during the Warring States period (475-221 BC). It has risen to become China's centre for business and finance, and has one of the most active ports in the country.
